Linear density

Yarn linear density is one of the commonly used indicators to describe the thickness of yarn. In the past, yarn count was used to express the linear density of yarns. To date, there are still some technical workers who call linear density as counts. Especially for technical workers in the wool spinning industry, current national and international standards no longer support it. Yarn counts are expressed in metric counts, with large counts, thin yarns, small counts, and thick yarns. Metric count refers to how many yarns are 1 kilometer long for 1kg of yarn. If 1kg of yarn is 18000m long, it is 18 yarns.
